How To Stake Zilliqa (ZIL)

Earn Zilliqa (ZIL) Staking Rewards
Zillion
Zillion is Zilliqa’s official staking dApp for your computer. To stake on Zillion, you must either have the ZilPay Wallet extension for your browser or a Ledger hardware wallet. We will go over how to stake on Zillion with ZilPay. Zillion requires 10 ZIL minimum to stake and recommends having at least 100 ZIL in your wallet to pay transaction fees.
ZilPay
ZilPay is a web wallet for Zilliqa available only on Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Brave, Opera, etc.). It is the only web wallet supported by Zillion.
- Go to https://zilpay.io/ and click “Get Chrome extension”.
2. Click “Add to chrome”.
3. ZilPay should open up automatically. If it doesn’t, open the ZilPay extension in your browser. Click the “Create” button to create your ZilPay wallet.
4. Go through the wallet creation process. Click “Use extension” once your wallet is created.
5. Click on your account address at the top to copy your address. Alternatively, click on the hamburger menu and go into your account settings to see your full address. Send your ZIL to this address.
6. After receiving your ZIL, you’re now ready to start staking on Zillion.
Staking on Zillion
- Go to https://stake.zilliqa.com/ and click “Sign in for Delegators”.
2. Choose the wallet that you wish to connect to Zillion.
3. Click “Unlock Wallet”.
4. ZilPay will automatically open up. Connect the wallet to Zillion.
5. With ZilPay connected to Zillion you can now choose who to stake with. Make sure you choose a validator that is listed as “Active”. Click “Stake” for your chosen validator.
6. Enter in the amount of ZIL that you wish to stake. There is a 10 ZIL minimum requirement to stake you will want at least 100 ZIL left in your wallet to pay for transaction fees.
7. Confirm the transaction on ZilPay.
8. You are now staking your ZIL. A new staking portfolio section will appear. This is where you will manually claim your rewards. There is a 2 week wait period to withdraw your stake.
Moonlet Wallet
Moonlet is the mobile wallet that the Zilliqa developers recommend. It is available on both the Apple and Android stores.
- Download the Moonlet wallet from your mobile device’s app store (iOS and Android supported).
2. Press “Create” and go through the wallet creation process. If you have a Ledger hardware wallet, you can press “Connect” instead.
3. Once your wallet is created, press on the ellipses underneath your account name.
4. Press “Copy address to clipboard” to copy your wallet address or write it down manually. Send your ZIL to this address.
5. Once you’ve received your ZIL, press “Stake now!”
6. Enter in the amount of ZIL you wish to stake. There is a 10 ZIL minimum requirement to stake. It will not let you stake your entire amount due to fees. Press “Stake Now” when you’ve decided how much to stake.
7. Press “Sign all transactions”.
8. You are now staking your ZIL! You must manually claim your rewards periodically on your Dashboard. There is a 2 week wait period to withdraw your stake.
Final Thoughts
Zilliqa is a relatively easy cryptocurrency to stake and earns high interest per year compared to other cryptocurrencies. We recommend staking on Zillion using ZilPay over using Moonlet because Moonlet’s interface and ease of use are not great compared to Zillion and ZilPay. Zillion also lets you choose who to stake with, whereas Moonlet only allows you to stake with them.
