1. Visit https://adalite.io/

2. Click the Create New Wallet button at the top right of the website.

3. Complete the rest of the initial startup procedures. Write down your seed phrase and make sure no one knows about it. The phrase is how you will access your wallet if you are not using a hardware wallet.

4. Click the “Receive” tab and transfer your ADA to one of the provided addresses.

5. Click the “Staking” tab.

6. By default, AdaLite will plug their own stake pool into the Stake Pool ID. If you want to stake with another stake pool, go to any ADA stake pool website such as https://adapools.org/ 

7. Each stake pool will generate you about 5% interest on your ADA, so there is no best option to choose where your ADA should be delegated to. You can click each stake pool and read what they’re all about and delegate to whoever you like.

8. Once you’ve decided on a stake pool to delegate to, click the “Delegate” button and then confirm the transaction.

9. After finalizing any following prompts, you’re all done!

4. Daedalus Wallet

Daedalus is the most difficult of the 3 wallets we recommend. Although we recommend this wallet, it should probably only be used as a last choice if Yoroi or AdaLite either do not work for you or you don’t like how they look. The reason for this is that the Daedalus wallet must sync to the blockchain every time you open the program, which can take a while and can be annoying to keep waiting for. Despite this, it is still a solid wallet and Daedalus can be synced with your Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet. Daedalus wallet is only available on PC.

1.Go to https://daedaluswallet.io/

2. Download and install the Daedalus wallet for your current operating system (macOS, Linux, Windows 8.1 and 10)

3. Launch Daedelus wallet.

4. Complete the initial startup procedures.

5.Create a wallet or pair with a hardware wallet if you have one that you want to use.

6. Write down your given seed phrase and store it in a safe location after verifying it.

7. Wait for Daedelus to sync with the blockchain. It is normal for it to take a very long time (many hours) to sync on your first time using the wallet. It will be faster on following startups but there will still be a wait.

8. Click the “Receive” tab and transfer your ADA to one of the provided addresses.

9. With your ADA now in your wallet, click on the button right below the wallet icon on the left side of the app to take you to the delegation center, then click on the “Stake pools” tab. There will be a slider allowing you to change it to the amount of ADA you want to delegate. This will update the amount each stake pool shows for the amount of potential interest you will receive every 5 days of staking.

10.Each stake pool will generate you about 5% interest on your ADA, so there is no best option to choose where your ADA should be delegated to. You can click each stake pool and read what they’re all about and delegate to whoever you like.

11. After choosing a stake pool, click the “Delegate to this pool” button and follow the instructions provided.

12. After confirming your delegation, you’re all done!

Undelegating Your Cardano

Yoroi is the only wallet that allows you to undelegate and get your initial deposit back. AdaLite and Daedelus will only allow you to switch stake pools.

Yoroi Wallet(Desktop and Mobile): In your Yoroi Dashboard, click the “Withdraw” button under your rewards section and then deregister your staking key. You will also receive your initial delegation deposit back.

• You must have some balance of ADA already to withdraw your rewards
• There will be a backlog of approximately 3 weeks of rewards so don’t remove all your balance until you receive all your rewards

Pairing Your Hardware Wallet Yoroi (Desktop): 

1. Install the Cardano ADA app on Ledger Live if you’re using a Ledger device. Trezor users start at step 2.
2. Add a new wallet on Yoroi and choose “Connect to hardware wallet”.

3. Choose Cardano as the currency.

4. Choose Ledger or Trezor Hardware wallets depending on which you use.

5. Choose Shelley Era

6. Ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:

1. Click next and connect
2. After connecting your hardware wallet to Yoroi, follow the instructions given by the website that will pop up.

3. Follow the prompts on your Ledger/Trezor device.

Daedalus:

1. Click the Add Wallet button and then choose “Pair”

We highly recommend getting a hardware wallet to secure your crypto funds if you care about security. With a hardware wallet, it is impossible to lose your funds through a hack because transaction requests must be approved through your hardware wallet.

1. Keplr Wallet

Keplr is the recommended Cosmos wallet for desktop. Like many desktop wallets, it is installed as a browser extension and requires any Chromium-based browser to run (Chrome, Opera, Brave, etc.). It can also be paired with a Ledger hardware wallet for more safety.

1. Go to https://www.keplr.app/ and install the extension for your browser.
   

2. Open the Keplr wallet extension and choose whether to sign in with Google, create an account just for Keplr, or use your Ledger hardware wallet if you have one. We recommend creating an account or using Ledger because you will have a recovery phrase that can be used to restore your ATOM to any other wallet that supports ATOM, whereas choosing to sign in with Google will only work for wallets that also support signing in with Google.

3. Upon successful creation/sign in, the extension will close. Reopen Keplr and you will now see your account overview. Click “Deposit” to get your ATOM address.

4. Send your ATOM to the provided address.

5. After receiving your ATOM, go back to your account overview and click “Stake”.

6. You will be provided with a list of validators to stake with. Click the manage button for each validator to possibly see their website and description.

7. After deciding on a validator to stake with, click “Delegate”.

8. The new window will allow you to set how much ATOM you wish to stake. We recommend staking nearly everything if you plan on holding your ATOM long-term. 2. Cosmostation

Cosmostation is the recommended Cosmos wallet for your mobile device. It is simple to use and like Keplr, it can be paired with a Ledger hardware wallet. 

1. Download Cosmostation on your mobile device’s app store (iOS and Android supported).
   

2. Create a new wallet. Choose “Cosmos Mainnet” in the following screen.

3. After finalizing your wallet’s creation, you will see your account overview. Send your ATOM to the provided address.

4. After receiving your ATOM, press the “Delegate” button.

5. Go to the “Top” tab and you will be provided a list of the top validators to stake with.

6. After choosing a validator, press the “Delegate” button for them.

7. The new window will allow you to set how much ATOM you wish to stake. We recommend staking nearly everything if you plan on holding your ATOM long-term. Leave at least $0.50 worth of ATOM in your wallet to pay for future fees. Be aware that staking your ATOM will lock it for 21 days. Unstaking will also take an additional 21 days if you choose to do so.

8. Continue until you get to the transaction fee. We recommend choosing “Average” to prevent the delegation from failing.

9. Press next and confirm the transaction in the final screen.

10. After approving the transaction, your ATOM is now staked and you will begin earning interest!

3. Ledger (Safest Option)

Having a Ledger hardware wallet is the absolute safest way to keep your cryptocurrencies safe. Cosmos is one of the cryptocurrencies that can be staked directly through Ledger. If you have a Ledger hardware wallet, this is the recommended method of staking it.

1. Install the Cosmos app onto your Ledger hardware wallet on Ledger Live.
   

2. When the app finishes installing, click “Add account”.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts until the account is added successfully.

4. Go to your new Cosmos account and click the “Receive” button or click the “Receive” button on the side bar.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts until you get your Cosmos address. Send your ATOM to this address.

6. After receiving your ATOM, you will now have an “Earn rewards” button in your Cosmos account. Click this.

7. Continue through the on-screen prompts until you see a list of validators. Unfortunately, ledger’s validator list can’t be sorted easily so you’ll need to use a validator website such as https://stake.fish/en/cosmos/leaderboard/ to see which validators are the most popular. 4. Coinbase

Coinbase is famous for being one of the most beginner friendly Cryptocurrency exchange platforms. However, it does have higher fees than other exchanges. By holding Cosmos on Coinbase, you will currently receive 5% interest per year on your Cosmos.

You can buy Cosmos on Coinbase and hold or transfer it in from another wallet. You will start accruing interest immediately.

Transferring ATOM to Coinbase

Desktop:

1. On the Coinbase website, click the “Send/Receive” button.

Final Thoughts

Cosmos is a great cryptocurrency to have and has many different methods to earn interest on it. The easiest option to earn interest is to just buy it on an exchange that provides interest on it and hold it in your wallet there like with Coinbase and Binance.us. The tradeoff for this is that it is the most unsafe option (although it’s still very safe) and also provides the lowest interest per year on your ATOM because the exchange takes a cut of the total interest you should be getting.

6. MetaMask will automatically pop up and ask you to confirm the transaction. Click “Confirm” to finalize.

7. Back in the staker dashboard, click the “Claim” button under “Eth to be claimed”.

8. Choose to earn your rewards as either aETHb or aETHc. There is no best choice and it is up to you which method you prefer.

3. Gemini (Not Recommended)

Gemini is one of the easier cryptocurrency exchanges to use. It is also one of the only exchanges that allows you to earn interest on your Ethereum without locking it, although this comes at the cost of earning lower interest compared to other exchanges. By holding ETH in your Gemini Earn account, you can currently earn about 2.05% interest per year on your ETH. You can buy your ETH directly on Gemini Earn or transfer it in from your Gemini wallet. To transfer your ETH to Gemini, here are the steps:

1. Click the “Transfer” button near the top right of the website and click “Deposit into Gemini”.
   

2.Use the dropdown menu to select “ETH” as the selected cryptocurrency and then click “Continue”.

3. Send your ETH to the provided address and then click “Done”.

7. After confirming that your account is shown on the app wallet and updating your extension, open up your Polkadot{.js} extension and transfer your DOT to your Polkadot{.js} address.

8. Go back to the Polkadot app wallet and hover over the “Network” tab and then click “Staking”.

9. Click on the “Account actions” button and then click on “+Stash” to create a stash account.

11. After bonding your DOT, your stash account will now be listed. Click on the ellipses and click “Set nominees”.

12. Select validators from the list of candidate accounts to stake with. You can select multiple validators and are encouraged to do so. After picking your validators, click “Nominate” and then sign the transaction.

13. You’re all done and should now see your stash account as staking! Rewards are distributed daily.

Fearless Wallet

Fearless is a popular mobile wallet for Polkadot and Kusama, the Polkadot creator’s other cryptocurrency. It is praised for its easy-to-use interface and information that it provides for you.

1. Download the Fearless Wallet from your mobile device’s app store (Android and iOS supported)
   

2. Create a new account.

3. Choose Polkadot for the network.

4. After finalizing your account creation, press the “Receive” button to get your wallet address.

5. Send your DOT to the provided address.

6. After receiving your DOT, go to the Staking tab. Click “Start staking”.

7.Enter in the amount of DOT that you wish to stake. Choose the “Restake” option if you want your rewards to automatically be added to your staking DOT. Choose “Payout” if you want your rewards to be sent to your normal wallet balance instead. If you plan on holding your DOT for a while, we recommend that you choose “Restake”. Hit “Continue” when finished.

8. Go through the remaining screens until you’re able to confirm your stake.

9. After confirming your stake, you’re all done! You will begin earning interest once your DOT is bonded to the validators.

3. Ledger Hardware Wallet

Ledger is the safest method of storing and staking your DOT. With a Ledger hardware wallet, no one can steal your cryptocurrency unless they also have access to your physical Ledger device. Because of this, we recommend this method if you’re able to do so. You can stake your DOT directly on the Ledger Live app.

1. Install the Polkadot app onto your Ledger hardware wallet on Ledger Live.

2. When the app finishes installing, click “Add account”.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts until the account is added successfully.

4. Go to your new Polkadot account and click the “Receive” button or click the “Receive” button on the side bar.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts until you get your Polkadot address. Send your DOT to this address.

6. Once you receive your DOT, you will now see an “Earn rewards” button in your Polkadot account. Click this.

7. Go through the prompts until you must choose how much DOT to bond. Enter in the amount of DOT that you wish to stake. You must leave some DOT unbonded to pay for transaction fees.

8. After bonding your DOT, you will be asked to nominate validators. You should nominate the max amount of validators to give you the highest chance of earning interest on your DOT. Do not nominate validators with 100% commission. You will not receive rewards from them.

9. After completing the nomination process, you will eventually start earning rewards once your DOT has bonded with them.

4. Exchanges

Staking on an exchange is the easiest way to stake your Polkadot because all you need to do is buy it and then leave it in your exchange’s wallet. Unfortunately this also means that you do not own your cryptocurrency and if anything happens to your account, you risk losing everything that you hold on that exchange.

Kraken

Kraken is a popular cryptocurrency exchange based in the US. While it isn’t as beginner friendly as other exchanges, it is still relatively simple to use and also has one of the best support teams out of all the cryptocurrency exchanges. Kraken currently provides 12% interest per year on your DOT.

You can buy Polkadot on Kraken and hold or transfer it in from another wallet. You will start accruing interest immediately. Kraken distributes rewards twice a week.

Transferring DOT to Kraken:

1. Go to the funding tab and click “Deposit”. Select Polkadot.

Final Thoughts

We Recommend staking Dot with Celsius because the minimum dot required to stake on other platforms are extremely high and there is no bonding required. Polkadot is one of the rare cases where it is probably better to stake on a mobile wallet rather than a desktop wallet if you don’t have a Ledger hardware wallet. 3. After adding a new Tezos account, click “Receive” to get your Tezos wallet address.

4. Send XTZ to the given address.

5. After you’ve received your XTZ, go back to your Tezos account window and click “Earn Rewards”.

6. Select a validator to stake with and finalize the delegation process.

7. After finalizing the delegation process, you will begin receiving rewards after about 40 days.

2. Temple Wallet

Temple is a popular web wallet for your desktop browser. One of the benefits of the Temple wallet is that you can pair it with a Ledger hardware wallet for more security.

1. Go to https://templewallet.com/download and install the Temple wallet for your browser.
   

2. After installing, open up the Temple wallet in your browser and create a new wallet. Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Once your wallet is created, click the “Receive” button.

4. Send your XTZ to the provided wallet address.

5. After you receive your XTZ, go back to the main wallet page and then click on the delegate tab. Click on the “Delegate now” button.

6. You will be given a list of nodes to stake with. They are already sorted in order of score, but you can click on the “Tezos Nodes” button to get more information on the nodes, including how much interest you can expect to get from them.

7. (Skip to step 8 if you’re not interested in viewing Tezos Nodes information) At the Tezos Nodes website, 3 important data points you’ll want to pay attention to are the yield, efficiency, and score. The yield will tell you how much interest you can expect to get per year staking with that node. The efficiency is how effective the node has been for the year. Total points is how reliable you can expect the node to be.

8. After choosing a node to delegate with, just click the Delegate button and finalize the delegation process. Do not worry about the additional fee, keep it at minimal. This has nothing to do with how fast you will get your interest. You can’t undelegate your XTZ but it is also not locked so you can transfer it any time you wish.

9. After finalizing the delegation process, your XTZ will be staked within a few minutes.

Pairing Temple wallet with Ledger hardware wallet:

1. Ensure the Tezos Wallet (XTZ) app is installed on your Ledger hardware wallet.

2. On the Temple wallet, click on your profile picture at the top right and click “Connect Ledger”.

3. Change the wallet account name for your Ledger wallet if you wish and leave everything else default and then click “Add Ledger Account”.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts and then you will have a new Tezos wallet account that is paired with your Ledger hardware wallet.

3. Kukai Wallet

The Kukai wallet is another popular web wallet but it is slightly more difficult to use. Just like the Temple wallet, Kukai can be paired with a Ledger hardware wallet for more security.

1. Go to https://wallet.kukai.app/ and click “New wallet”. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your new wallet.
   

2. Once you’ve created your wallet, send your XTZ to your provided wallet address.

3. After you’ve received your XTZ, go to https://www.tezos-nodes.com/ to find a node to stake with.

4. At the Tezos Nodes website, 3 important data points you’ll want to pay attention to are the yield, efficiency, and score. The yield will tell you how much interest you can expect to get per year staking with that node. The efficiency is how effective the node has been for the year. Total points is how reliable you can expect the node to be.

5. After choosing a node to stake with, copy its delegation address.

6. After copying the delegation address, go back to your Kukai wallet and click “Choose a baker”.

7. Paste the delegation address of your chosen node in the new screen. Press the “Preview” button and finalize the delegation process

8. After finalizing the process, your XTZ will be staked within a few minutes.

Pairing Kukai wallet with your Ledger hardware wallet

1. Ensure the Tezos Wallet (XTZ) app is installed on your Ledger hardware wallet.

2. On the main Kukai website, select “Connect Ledger”.

3. In the new screen, click “Connect” and follow the on-screen prompts to create a new Kukai wallet account that is paired with your Ledger hardware wallet.

4. Coinbase

Coinbase is famous for being one of the most beginner friendly Cryptocurrency exchange platforms. However, it does have higher fees than other exchanges. By holding Tezos on Coinbase, you will currently receive 4.63% interest per year on your Tezos.

You can buy Tezos on coinbase and hold or transfer it in from another wallet. You will start accruing interest immediately.

How to transfer Tezos to Coinbase

Coinbase Desktop:

1. On the Coinbase website, click the “Send/Receive” button.

1. Go to https://www.exodus.com/ and download and install the desktop app (Windows, Mac, and Linux supported)

Final Thoughts

Celsius is a great method of earning interest on a variety of cryptocurrencies, such as XTZ, because it’s as simple as sending crypto to your Celsius wallet and holding. If you are planning on holding long-term, we recommend activating HODL mode on Celsius. This mode disables features such as sending cryptocurrencies out of your wallet and much more until you disable HODL mode. Software wallets are more recommended if you are willing to sacrifice some convenience for more security. You will be provided a seed phrase that can be used to restore your XTZ on any other XTZ wallet if the wallet it’s currently on shuts down.

With software wallets, we recommend the Exodus wallet if you value convenience because you can stake and hold many other cryptocurrencies on it. However, this convenience comes with the same drawbacks as an exchange where if someone manages to get onto your computer or mobile device and access your Exodus wallet, they can now do anything to all of your cryptocurrencies.

Between the Temple and Kukai wallets, we recommend the Temple wallet because it is simpler to use and they both can be paired with a Ledger hardware wallet for maximum security.

• Skip to step 4 if you already have Ethereum on your account.

1. Click the “Send/Receive” button.

2. Go to the “Receive” tab and change the asset to Ethereum. Send your ETH to the provided wallet address.

3. Go to the Ethereum overview page.

4. Scroll down and look for the option to stake.

5. If you haven’t signed up for ETH2 staking yet, you will need to be put on a waitlist to be approved for ETH2 staking. You do not need to have any ETH to sign up for this waitlist. If you are already approved for ETH2 staking, click “Stake now”.

6. Go through the prompts until you are asked how much you wish to stake. Stake as much as you feel comfortable in staking. 1. Go to the “Funding” section. Click “Deposit”.

2. Select Ethereum and then generate a deposit address.

Celsius is a popular crypto borrowing and lending platform that allows you to earn interest on a variety of different cryptocurrencies. Ethereum is relatively easy to stake and earn interest on. The only downside is that you need to lock up your Ethereum to earn interest. If you need your funds in case of an emergency, we don’t recommend staking your Ethereum through this method.
